Girl out of Water by Laura Silverman

Thank you to netgalley for providing me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed reading this book about a girl named Anise who loves to surf. She surfs every minute She lives by the ocean and has never left home. This is where her friends and family live. Without them she is lost.

This summer her family needs her across the country, so she leaves home with her father to take care of her cousins. Her cousins are a 12 year old girl and nine year old twin brothers. She mothers them while Anise’s aunt is recovering. They often go to the park where Anise meets a boy her age; making this an unforgettable read.

Girl out of Water is written in first person from Anise’s perspective. She is relatable as we read her struggles and victories. Don’t miss this unique book set to be published May 1, 2017.
